The Executive Chairman, Ethiope West Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. PST Oghenedoro Nelson Owoso alongside other Nigerian security outfits has inaugurated the Delta State Community Security Corps in Oghara, with a pledge that the security of lives and property in the council is non-negotiable.
Speaking at the inauguration, on Wednesday, at the Ethiope West Council Secretariat in Oghara, Hon. Owoso said the move was a vital part of the ongoing efforts of his administration towards enhancing security across Ethiope West.
He commended the Delta State governor, Sen Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for deeming it necessary to set up the Delta State Community Corps, which is in line with international best practices of securing communities.
Owoso said that the inauguration of the Delta State Community Corps in Ethiope West will bolster community policing to check criminal activities and assist the Police and other security agencies to provide and ensure the safety of life and property of the people of Ethiope West.
The Council Boss, however, charged members of the corps to ensure quick response to duty.
