Chief Freeborn Nana has been appointed as new Ugo of Mosogar Kingdom by the Oguedion Council of Chiefs and elders, during their plenary today Saturday 13th August,2022.
His appointment became necessary, following the suspension of Chief Paule Ojarikre ‘Ugo” alongside 12- other Chiefs few weeks ago.Chief Ojarikre refused to settle with the Oguedion Council of Chiefs and Elders after 3 market days, thereby making the position of ‘Ugo’ vacant.
Recalled thirteen (13) Chiefs was suspended due to their unlawful declaration of Chief Japhet Adoye now Mr. Japhet Adoye as “Otota of Mosogar Kingdom” without following due process and legal procedures as enshrined in the gazette of Mosogar Kingdom.
Chief Ojarikre later made false allegations to blackmailed and tarnished the reputation of Mosogar Kingdom and some other prominent Chiefs,declaring suspension on Mosogar leaders through press briefing.
Among the thirteen Chiefs that was suspended,five (5) has been reinstalled following their settlement with the Oguedion, saying they were misled due to over zealousness concerning their illegal pronouncement of the “Otota Elect” without following due process.
Those Chiefs that has been reinstalled to the Oguedion includes;
- Chief Felix Oboko Omene
- Chief Conference Friday
- Chief Daniel Ofishe
- Chief Friday Egberhi
- Chief Festus Akare
Chief Freeborn Nana appointment was duly approved by HRM Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka 1, Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom.
