His Royal Majesty,major General Felix A.Mujakperuo(CFR),mni,rtd(Orhue 1)the orodje of Okpe Kingdom was born on the 4th December,1946 into the Mujakperuo family of the Okpe Kingdom,one of the biggest Kingdom in Urhobo nation, covering Okpe and Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.He joined the Nigerian Defence Academy in October 1968,as an officer cadet, after graduating from Urhobo college.He graduated as the best all round cadet in 1971 and was commissioned in the infantry.
During his service to the great nation of Nigeria,the Orodje served as a company commander 1971-1973, instructor at the Nigeria Army’s infantry school 1976-1978 and battalion commander 1978-1986,while serving in this capacity,he had also been a student of the university of Lagos and the Nigeria law school,from which he obtained law degree in 1985 and 1986 respectively.He led the military observer Group of the Economic Community (ECOMOG)of West African states to restore peace in Sierra Leone,his troops performed exceedingly well and was given a recognition by UNOMSIL.
Due to his elegance, disciplined,out spoken and impeccable character during his service in the military,he was elected July 8th,2006 as Orhue1,the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.He was officially installed on 29th July,2006,making him the 4th king to ascends the throne of the great Okpe Kingdom.
As the new Orodje,he brought his wealth of leadership to reposition the great kingdom, working in synergy with other Urhobo monarchs to smoothing the frustrating relationship between the Okpe Kingdom and the rest of Urhobo nation.He believed in human capital development,with which he deployed all economic resources and personal strength,to creates scholarship and educational programme that sustains the people,attracting development to Okpe land, returned the headquarters of the kingdom to Orerokpe and influence all the great sons and daughters in building a befitting palace for Okpe Kingdom.
He is currently Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers in Delta State.
Today marked his 16years on the throne and it is true that throughout profane and sacred history, particularly in the era of divine rights of king’s ,the personality of a reigning monarch,king or queen often dictates the trajectory of the empire or Kingdom.Today,the Orodje has been able to maintain an enduring peace,building wall and bridges across Urhobo nation.
