Okakuro Oturu Solomon Onovughakpor, who is the most soughed, PDP Frontline aspirant vying for the seat of the Member to Represent Ethiope East Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, 2023 in a meeting with the entirety of Orhoakpor Community Leadership body which consists of the board of trustees (BOT), Principal Officers, Stakeholders, custodians of the Community deity and well meaning illustrious sons and daughters of Orhoakpor Community, Officially declared his intentions to run for the Ethiope East Constituency House of Assembly elections come 2023.
Oturu made this intentions known to the leadership forum yesterday Thursday, 3rd February, 2022 at the Warri residence of Famous Chief Johnbull Ejovi of Ejovi’s Marines, Udu of Agbon Kingdom. While making his intentions public to the ever progressive and conservative Leadership council of his Community, Orhoakpor, Okakuro Oturu Solomon stated that his utmost desire which sums up as his motivation for wanting to run for this highly exalted position is to change the narrative of development in the lives of his people by bringing succor to Ethiope East LGA as a whole and also liaise with the necessary authorities to bring security unrest to an end in the constituency. “Off course everyone seated here can attest to the facts that over the years I have made the safety and security of lives and properties in Ethiope East LGA especially Orhoakpor, my primary assignment and it’s on that premise I want to state that my emergence by the grace of God would bring to stop issues of banditry, unwholesome activities of Fulani herdsmen, incessant killings, Kidnapping and others. The continued quest for absolute peace in our local government forms one of the multiple reasons I have joined the race he added”.
Okakuro Oturu went further to stress the needs for Orhoakpor to produce the next candidate to occupy the position on the ground that the Orhoakpor People has been long marginalized and deprived such position since the inception of the 1999 democratic government and even till date.
The alight of the meeting was the unified affirmation from all the principal officers that indeed “It should be recorded as an historic, very glorious and joyful day as Orhoakpor Community now have a son contesting for the seat of the Member Representing Ethiope East Constituency at The DTHA”. Going further they were all marveled to receive the news and pledged to rally round their son so as to emerge the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and eventually the overall candidate for the position at the general elections.
Responding after his declaration, the members present at the event applauded him, first and foremost for courage, bold steps and then for his kind gesture so far towards the good people of Orhoakpor Community, alighting some of his good works/projects that has been executed by him and very importantly how he has contributed meaningfully to the growth and development of the Community . In their words, they will support his aspirations till he succeed. They did well by offering Okakuro Oturu fervent prayers even as he steps further in preparation, he shall step victoriously, and encouraged him to carry everyone along as he goes to the State House of Assembly.
Okakuro Oturu Solomon Onovughakpor, The Adjerese of Agbon who also doubles as the Ogbanogba of Orhoakpor Sub – Clan, appreciated their kind words, anticipated supports, prayers and great gestures towards him and pleaded for their prayers and support individually.
