A member of the board of trustees to Safe Aid Foundation (SAF),Dr. Prince Edesiri Tesi (Ph.D,JP) has expressed gratitude to governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State,as foundation trained over 100 youths on various skills in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State.
Giving the vote of thanks, Dr. Prince Edesiri Tesi (Ph.D, JP) in his speech, expressed gratitude to H. E. Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa for giving well and meaningful youths in the state ample opportunity in contributing their quota to the stronger Delta agenda of the Okowa led administration through his various human capital developmental programs such as Steps, Yagep, Rysa, Gest Wesap etc.. “I am a testimonial of the smart agenda of H. E. prosperity for all deltans and am happy we could give back to the society today” he added
Safe Aid Foundation (SAF), a non-governmental and profit organization whose core values is health and entrepreneurship has yesterday empowered thousands of youths in Delta State especially those domicile in Ughelli South Local Government area.
SAF led by the Executive Director, Dr. Martins Oyovwe Kedienhon with his board of trustees, directors and volunteers yesterday held a one day program in the event hall of the council secretariat at Otu-Jeremi Community with the theme: “Redefining the Leadership Context of Youth; Your Mindset and True Direction”.
The guest lecturer, Mrs Christine Ejetavwo Aluyi, who is the registrar/secretary to council of the Delta State College of Education, Warri in her address urged youths to use this life time opportunity and period of their young age to identify with the right circles of friends; stay honest and discipline; show good example of leadership irrespective of where they find themselves.
Also stating that youths are no more climbing the ladder of success; no more sense of responsibility for societal norms and values; their behaviour, life style and quest for money is alarming and worrisome; cutting corners rather than following the stages of life with so much disdain for education.
She admonished participants of the event on the need for self awareness either internal or external self awareness in discovering their identity and inherent skills which is are keys to redefining their true direction for leadership positions. “The skill you have today is the tomorrow you are hoping for” she added.
She thanked the organizers of the program for reaching out to the youths in the rural locality adding that this program is timing as the situation in the society and country calls for a mindset reorientation.
Dr. Martins in his remarks thank the keynote speaker of the day for doing justice to the theme, the local government chairman, Hon. Dr. Richard Kofi for making available the center for the training, the Secretary to local government, Hon. Joseph Okeoghene Ubrurhe for his earnest supports at all times, The Ughelli South Chapter Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria for gracing the event, not forgetting the partners and collaborators of SAF, he especially appreciated the various facilitators that trained this youths on Shoe making, Hair making/styling, Graphics design, Fish farming, Online Trading/ Marketing , Web developing, Organic cream, pink lip balm and soap making, Fashion designing, Photography etc.
