It was the first time in history of the great Ugbomoja Waterside,a Community in Idjerhe Kingdom to host a major political event that draws the attention of eminents political leaders, Chiefs,men of timber and caliber across Delta State and beyond yesterday Sunday 20th June,2021.
The Community which by the divine providence of God produced the Chairman of Ethiope West LGA for the first time and the highest political office ever attained in history of the land, joyously hosted and welcome their illustrious son in the person of Rt Hon (Pastor) Nelson Oghenedoro Owoso which administration clocked 100-days recently.
The community amidst funfair, pledged total Support towards the success of the Owoso/Atomre led administration in the local council,while they appreciated the Peoples Democratic Party leadership in Ethiope West,for counting their son worthy, as a Chairman.
Chief Steven Ikewun a former police Commissioner,in his words of advice,told the gathering to put God first in whatever they do and maintain good self-control,so as to ensure the very best in the journey of life.
In the Welcome Address which was read by Comr Rich Attah,the Community appreciated Hon Owoso for his doggedness and love which he had shown through visible transformation projects,since his sojourn into politics.
In his speech,Hon Owoso appreciated the Governor of Delta State,His Excellency Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa,the Executive Governor of Delta State,His Excellency Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Former Governor of Delta State,High Chief Sen Ighoyota Amori JP,Chief (Hon) Barr. Anthony Odaji Akpomiemie,Chief Williams Makinde,Hon Ben Rollands Igbakpa,Hon (Pastor) Chris Onogba,Hon Erhiatake Ibori Suenu,Chief (Hon) Barr.John Nani and host of other leaders who contributed immensely towards his emergence as the Chairman of the local government.
He also appreciated the PDP leadership in Ethiope West,Hon Solomon Obareki JP,the DG Campaign Chief Duncan Ewerhe and all party members,who stood firmly and worked tirelessly to ensure his victory.
Hon Owoso in his speech,listed some of his projects since his political journey,which he influenced and completed when he represented the people as a Councillor,to Includes Restoration of Ugbomoja Light, construction of water tank,which plant also helps in lighting the Community presently and construction of healthcare Centre for the people.
Hon Owoso also noted that,he have also completed new water project for the health centre to enable Heath workers in the centre have access to good water.
He further promised to do more for the people,as he asked for the prayers and support of the good people of Ugbomoja Waterside Community and Ethiope West in general.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of various items by Ugbomoja Community led by Mr. Anuwa Michael and Award for meritorious service to the community.
Present Includes Ethiope East Local Government Chairman,Hon (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta and his first lady, Sapele Local Government Chairman,Hon Eugene Inoghan and Okpe Local Government Chairman,Hon. Isaiah Onoriode Esiovwa.
Others are Prof Okobia (Nee Ejairu) VC Western Delta University, Hon (Chief) Anthony Odaji Akpomiemie,Hon Solomon Obareki (PDP Chairman Ethiope West),Chief Duncan Ewerhe (Owoso Campaign DG),Hon Austin Atomre (Vice Chairman Ethiope West) Hon Sunday Amori (Secretary Ethiope West),PDP woman Leader in Ethiope West,Chief London Akpanoko and others.
