The Executive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Council, Rt Hon. (Pst) Nelson Oghenedoro Owoso has sued for national cohesion and peaceful co-existence among all Nigerians in general, and the people of Ethiope West LGA in particular, as the Nation mark the 2021 Democracy Day celebration.
In his felicitation messages, the Council Boss urge Ethiopians, Nigeria at large to use the occasion to pursue and promote issues that cement the nation’s national cohesion and peaceful co-existence.
The Council Boss in his remarks also noted the deepening of the nation’s democratic culture since the return to civil rule in 1999.
Adding that as a people we should continue to engage each other and tolerate each other’s views,thereby owing it to ourselves to eschew all forms of violence.
“Our democracy has grown by leaps and bounds in the past 22 years, and Nigeria and Nigerians deserve a pat on the back.
“This occasion, therefore, calls for a re-dedication of ourselves to pursuing those ideals that promote national unity and peaceful co- existence,’’
“We must continue to engage each other and tolerate each other’s views. We owe it to ourselves to eschew all forms of violence,
“Once again, I celebrates Nigerians on Democracy Day 2021. I pray that Almighty God will heal our country and restore peace, unity, development, justice, equity,” he said.
