…Oghenesivbe Commends Legal Team For Knowledge Of The Law.
Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday 17th June, dismissed Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/631/2022, filed by the Plaintiffs; Kanaba Ovie Duke and Osigidi Amos, against the Defendants; Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orojwedor and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
It was a pre-governorship primary matter wherein the defendants acted prematurely and without locus standi, seeking to stop first defendant, Oborevwori from parading himself as the party’s candidate and the second defendant, PDP, from recognising the first defendant as its governorship candidate in the 2023 forthcoming election.
The action was obviously not within the special jurisdiction of the Court, conferred by Section 84 (14) of the Electoral Act, 2022. It was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction of Court to entertain the matter against Oborevwori and PDP.
So far, a total of five cases against Oborevwori and PDP have been thrown out this week, for lack of legal substance and locus standi.
Reacting to the Court verdict, leader of Sheriffied Delta Media Group, Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, commended Oborevwori and PDP’s legal team for their knowledge of the Law, pointing out that the Court which is the hope of the common man had lived up to public expectations.
He asserted that Deltans and indeed Nigerians are no longer in doubt about the pedigree and credibility of Delta PDP Governorship candidate, Rt Hon Oborevwori, contrary to sponsored media propaganda.
“Our governor in waiting, Rt Hon Oborevwori is obviously a law abiding citizen, well educated and holds master degree in political science with no discrepancies whatsoever, either his names or academic certificates.
“I commend and thank the legal team for a job well done, especially for their knowledge of the Law. The Courts remain the hope of the common man, and it has lived up to public expectations.
“It is crystal clear that all the media propaganda against Oborevwori goes to no issue, and without prejudice, his candidacy shall remain valid and solid till his inauguration as the governor of Delta State, on May 29, 2023,” Oghenesivbe assured.
