The founder of Fasa Hope Foundation, Mr. Lucky Eghagbevwa has said that the foundation was established to reach out to the voiceless, powerless and the most vulnerable people in the society even as he noted that the foundation is touching lives randomly.
Eghagbevwa told The Urhobo Voice that the objective of the foundation is to reach out to the most vulnerable among the people by providing services and care for them.
He said:” My late father was a pastor and my mother was a petty trader. I was not blessed with all the good things of life when i was growing up. I know how difficult it is for the less privileged”.
” Despite not being rich, my mother will give all she had to those she considered as less privileged. Sometimes, my mother would prepare food and give to the children on the street. I practically learned how to give from my mother. She would often say to me that it is not the rich people alone that help but those who are willing and share the pains of the people”.
Asked to highlight the achievements of the foundation, Eghagbevwa hinted that it renovated the Enerhen community health center, awareness campaign and treatment of diabetic and hypertensive people, provision of free school uniforms, bags and shoes to those who couldn’t afford them in Uvwie LGA, opening of bank account and financial support to Success Adegor of ” una go flog, una go taya fame”, among others”.
Eghagbevwa affirmed that the feedback is overwhelming and the joy one sees on the faces of the beneficiary is unquantifiable, adding:” Each time i go home, the people keep coming to show appreciation. The love i get back is amazing. Above all, God in heaven blesses me when i least expect it “.
His words:” Before setting up the foundation, i have always lived a life of service to my people. I can’t say that i am fulfilled at this stage or i have done what i intend to do for the people. It’s too early to x-ray what we have done but in all things, i give thanks to God”.
” I hope to see a foundation that will outlive me. I hope to see my kids follow my footpath. I hope to see those that we have helped with our educational assistance becoming leaders of tomorrow and remembering that it’s the foundation that God used to bless them and they will equally do something for someone else “.
