……..Task FG to revive refineries in the Niger Delta Region.
The founder Rebrand Niger Delta, a developmental initiative organization based in United Kingdom and Nigeria, Mrs Enoh Sampson has condemned the signing of MOU to import fuel from Niger Republic by the federal government of Nigeria.
In a statement issued, Mrs Sampson tasked Federal Government to revive all the refineries in Niger Delta Region,to end the importation of fuel.
According to her, the multiplier effect of reviving refineries in the Niger Delta region, will creates thousands of employment opportunities that will curb youths restiveness in the region.
She noted, importing fuel from neighbouring Niger Republic is a slap on the Nigerian state and is tantamount to using our own money in the development of other countries.
“Nigerian government needs to revive refineries and make them functional in the Niger Delta Region. This will help in creating further opportunities that can positively place us on the global map.
Nigeria should stop being ‘pennywise and pound foolish’.
Government have duties to provide better and good means of livelihood to the people and it will be most productive if all our refineries are revived in Nigeria”.She added.
