By Monday Odaka.
In what appeared to be final burial and mopping of the remains of the All Progressive Congress in Jesse Ward (5) Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, leaders and hundred members of the APC denounced the broom and decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party.
This is as a result of the political sagacity and doggedness of the administration of the current Ethiope west PDP Chief Priest Hon Solomon Obareki, which has began to yield fruitful result as he commences reunification excercise amongst aggrieved Party faithfuls and wooing of Other party members, which gave rise to the decamping of over 100 APC members today at Okuodibo Ward (five) 5 Jesse Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The event attracted top PDP leaders from Jesse including but not limited to Chief Peace Aghomi, Chief Gilbert Makaba, Chief Anugheri, Chief Mathew Aghomi, Chief Amos Obukohwo and Chief Omamugho Okokobioko and Mr young Kekeke etc
Top Chairmanship Aspirants present are Comr. Israel Tashemi, Hon Nelson Oghenedoro Owoso, Hon Tashemi Jonathan, while Councillorship Aspirants present includes Hon Orege. Comr Kingsley Ejairu and Mr Isaac Isah etc.
Speaking during the event, Mr Newton Amone who is the leader of the decampees, told the gathering that his years in the APC , has been so worthless as years spent in the prison yard hence his decision to join the PDP with all his followers
Speaking earlier, Hon Jerry Aghomi who is the incumbent ward five (5) Chairman said and I quote; my decision to embark on the soul winning for PDP was in compliance to the directive of the Ethiope west LGA PDP Chairman Hon Solomon Obareki, who told us to urgently see the needs for Wards reconciliation to win more souls for PDP in the area.
Welcoming the decampees, the Chief Priest of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ethiope West,Hon.Solomon Obareki commended them for their gallant decisions. He assured them that they will be treated fairly,as the Umbrella is wider enough to accommodate everyone.
“The Umbrella is very wide to cover everyone of us,whether in the rain or sun.As I once told our leaders sometime ago,the task of building the party is not for only me,as the work of politics is like a church, where everyone do their jobs as expected with prayers being the primary assignment.
We must all work together for the growth of the party so that we can eat the rewards.PDP is not a party that segregate new members from old members, everyone will be treated and given equal place in the party”Hon.Obareki assured.
The successful event today has been an attestation to Hon Obareki’s effectiveness as Ethiope west LGA Chairman.
To God be the glory.
